Our Story

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for baking and a dream of one day owning my own bakery. There has always been something special about taking simple ingredients and turning them into something that brings people together. Over the years, that love for baking continued to grow, and today, A Grain of Sugar Bakery is that lifelong dream becoming a reality.

My journey to get here has taken me to quite a few places. I had the honor of serving four years in the United States Navy, which gave me the opportunity to move from state to state and experience different places along the way. Eventually, my journey brought me to Pittsburgh, where I met my wonderful husband, Joe, and found the place I wanted to call home. Joe and I both come from big families, so it seemed only natural that we would build a big family of our own. Today, we're proud parents of seven children, and our home is filled with the laughter, love, and beautiful chaos that comes with a family our size.

Through every chapter of my life, my love of baking has remained. I’m now attending culinary school for Baking & Pastry, where I’m continuing to learn, grow, and fine-tune my skills while bringing my vision for A Grain of Sugar Bakery to life. My goal is to create handcrafted baked goods that feel special and familiar—the cookies, cinnamon rolls, breads, and other treats that find their way onto the table and become part of family moments and traditions.

After years of moving from place to place, Pittsburgh became my home. Here, I found my husband, raised our family, and now I’m building the bakery I’ve dreamed about for so many years. A Grain of Sugar Bakery is more than a business to me—it’s a piece of my story, my family, and a dream that has followed me through every chapter of my life.
